Blackboard Basics
Blackboard has replaced WebCT as NMSU's learning management system. To get started with Blackboard, visit http://learn.nmsu.edu/.

Blackboard is a web-based, interactive, e-learning system used by NMSU. It enables instructors to integrate the Internet into course delivery.
Logging into a Blackboard course
- Go to learn.nmsu.edu.
- Log-in using your Username and Password. If you have not already activated your myNMSU account, you will need to do so before you can log-in to Blackboard. See our Accounts & Passwords page if you need more information about accessing online services.
- Click the title of the course you wish to enter.
Blackboard troubleshooting
If you log-in to Blackboard but are unable to find the course you are enrolled in, contact the instructor to confirm that your name is in the student database and has been added the course roster.
If you drop a course and find that you are still listed in the course in Blackboard, contact the instructor to verify the reason for this. Some instructors prefer to leave dropped students on the course roster until the end of the semester for grading purposes.
Course troubleshooting
Any content related problems (such as an inability to access course content, quizzes, or grades) need to be addressed with your instructor. Contact the instructor to make sure that the content has actually been released and/or the student view of the content module has been updated.
WebCT Tutorials
These interactive tutorials simulate many of the tasks students may be expected to perform while using WebCT Version 4.1. If you are new to WebCT, we encourage you to use this resource to become familiar with this e-learning system used by NMSU.
