Prospective Students

NMSU is making higher education more accessible to people who may not be able to pursue their education through traditional means because of distance, time constraints, or family and work responsibilities.

Getting started

  1. Review the Degree Programs and/or Course Listings to select the offerings that best suit your needs.
  2. Is distance education the right choice for you? Our Distance Learning Self-Evaluation and Technical Skills Self-Evaluation can help you decide.
  3. If you are not already enrolled at NMSU, you must apply for admission. Our Admission, Tuition, Financial Aid page has all the information you need to get started.
  4. We recommend that all new distance education students go through an Advising process before registering for their courses.

When you are ready, information about Scheduling, Registration & Payment can be found in the Current Students section of our website.
